Willy Wonka & St. George Windows...

It's been really nice to work on some window art that hasn't involved Christmas recently! The Coopers Arms regularly use the windows to advertise forthcoming events... Easter, St. Georges. I'm enjoying the different themes. Each time, trying to better the last. Did you see St. Patricks day?

Home - on - the - range!

Seems like the last couple of weeks have flown by! I am being 'hogged' at the moment, have been very busy producing these boards for 3 new bars in Clapham, Twickenham & Bristol. It's been a huge task to complete 16 'A' board sides... I've nearly cracked it and have only site work to complete. Then, hopefully free up some time to complete the mural at Chafford. I'm missing that dragonfly...

New baby Bison, for Elk owners...

The Bison Bar, new to me but owned by the same group as Elk. These 2 'A' boards have a reversible board, and so, are effectivley 8 'A' board sides. No other client has me produce signage like this. Essentially, decorative artwork first. Then, hand rendered lettering over the top. Something that makes these B/Boards stand out and vary slightly from your usual pub board. They take a lot longer, and are a challenge to produce. But, the effort is well worth it.

Entering the dragons den!

It wasn't until I arrived on site, that I realised I was working in one of Duncan's health clubs!
Fairly simple blackboard designs, but effective none the less...

Up for the Craic!

Window art is not just for Christmas!

The Coopers Arms are really making the most of advertising St. Patricks day festivities to a busy high street and road junction.

A customer in the bar commented, before it was coloured up. " Have you ever seen a Leprechaun mate? It looks more like a Smurf! ". " Same difference. " I said, happy in the knowledge that he'd already recognised it as a Leprechaun!

I have included a shot from inside the pub today, as it gives you an idea of how painted windows look from the inside. I work up a layout externally, then paint the image 'backwards' inside. Next up St. Georges day!

Increasing the scale at Chafford!

Can you tell what it is yet?

This 'Emperor' dragonfly was started yesterday. Having taken a day to position and draw. I put down my base coat, and began to colour it up today... It's going to be huge this.

Things were made a little easier with the discovery of a taller ladder at the centre. It's still a little awkward trying to work so close to the wall without being able to step back and take a look. So far so good.

Watch this space to track it's progression!
